Neighbour's Motives
Antisocial behaviour by my neighbours began to increase after I bought some land behind my house. My neighbour's son was friends with the sone of an adjoining landowner who had repeatedly failed to buy the piece of land I'd just bought which left his bit land locked.
Antisocial behaviour increased dramatically in 2006 when I was approached by a string of three housing developers trying to buy my land for a small fraction of the value advised by chartered surveyors.
Four other landowners included in the proposed development could only cash in on their land if I sold mine which had the highway access, and they all stood to gain more for their land if I sold mine for less. The strategic nature of my land having the highway access made it very valuable and benefitting from the legal precedence of "Stokes v Cambridge". This precedence would have conferred up to 50% of the value of the other landowners land to me.
My land was valued at around £1Million, and "Stokes v Cambridge" would have conferred an additional £500,000.
There were huge sums of money to be gained from me selling my land for less and this gave rise to motives to bribe my neighbours and get them to deliberately make my life hell so I'd sell up at a very low price.
The following people clearly had motives to bribe my neighbours:
- The four other landowners, two of which had a connection with my neighbours from hell.
- The housing developers stood to make a bigger profit if I sold up for less.
- The local authorities stood to gain more social housing on the site, and bigger contributions for local infrastructure projects under Section 106 / Planning Gain Supplement payments if I sold up for less. (A possible reason the police may have deliberately failed to bring my neighbour's behaviour under control)
